Lead DevOps Engineer

We're currently seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our organization. We're in need of a seasoned Cloud Kubernetes Engineer capable of architecting, rolling out, and sustaining our multi-cloud Kubernetes environment spanning both AWS and Azure platforms. You'll be applying modern GitOps methodologies and infrastructure-as-code approaches to guarantee dependable, scalable, and secure platform operations Responsibilities Architect, roll out, and oversee production-grade Kubernetes clusters, spanning EKS on AWS and AKS on Azure, across various environments including dev, uat, and prod, and across multiple geographic regions Establish and sustain GitOps-driven workflows through ArgoCD to automate deployment processes and handle cluster configuration management Construct and sustain infrastructure-as-code frameworks leveraging Terraform for cloud resource provisioning alongside Helm/Helmfile for Kubernetes application management Track cluster health and performance metrics via Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch, while establishing alerting mechanisms and incident response workflows Oversee cluster operators and controllers spanning Argo Workflows, Argo Rollouts, cert-manager, cluster autoscaler, and cloud-specific CSI drivers for both AWS and Azure Enforce security best practices encompassing network policies, pod security policies, secrets management through tools like AWS Secrets Manager and External Secrets Operator, and RBAC setup Investigate and remediate intricate distributed systems challenges spanning compute, networking, and storage domains Work in tandem with development teams to fine-tune application deployment approaches and improve resource efficiency Generate documentation spanning infrastructure architecture, operational runbooks, and standardized procedures Requirements Five-plus years of practical, applicable experience in a comparable engineering position Minimum one year of experience directing and overseeing teams Solid orchestration background involving Kubernetes (EKS/AKS), ArgoCD, Argo Workflows, and Argo Rollouts Hands-on familiarity with infrastructure-as-code technologies, covering Terraform, Helm, and Helmfile Background working with monitoring and observability solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and Pyroscope Experience deploying security tools, including cert-manager, External Secrets, Kyverno, and Calico Working knowledge of storage technologies such as EBS CSI, EFS CSI, and S3 CSI/Mountpoint drivers Understanding of networking elements, including AWS VPC CNI, load balancers, and network policy configuration Strong communication capability with working English fluency at B2 level or above, supporting clear comprehension of business needs and their conversion into technical architecture Nice to have Background utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS) to construct and oversee cloud infrastructure Background utilizing Microsoft Azure to roll out and sustain cloud-based resources We offer International projects with top brands Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers Healthcare benefits Employee financial programs Paid time off and sick leave Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000+ courses Global career opportunities Volunteer and community involvement opportunities EPAM Employee Groups Award-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn EPAM is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
